No, it probably didn't require a whole page to share my email address with you.  But the "mailto:" html tag bugs me, because it (usually) launches Microsoft Outlook, the buggiest, most virus-susceptible software on the planet.  I use Mozilla Firefox for browsing, and Yahoo! Mail for email, so I like to have a choice of which email software launches when trying to contact someone. 

I reply to every email I get, and give credit (don't worry-- I'll leave off your surname) for comments about specific ads.
